YOUR CREDIT TOOLKIT: Credit
Get Your Credit Report in a Flash

This financial tool is so easy, there's no reason to put off requesting your credit report.

1. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com once every 12 months to get a free credit report from each of the three credit bureaus -- Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

2. Fill in your personal information (name, date of birth, Social Security number, current and past addresses). You'll have to do this only once to get all three reports. But for each report, be prepared to answer a security question to verify your identity.

3. Print or save your reports, and examine them carefully for errors.
